Missing Tour De Fat? We’re still doing a ride. Get the full scoop below.
With the cancellation of the Denver Tour De Fat this year, many have been left feeling sullen and empty inside and are missing the bike cheer that TDF always seemed to bring each and every September. There’s a big ‘ol hole in our bike hearts; where a dearth of costumes, community, and comradery used to reside.
The spectacle the TDF of the past has always been about two things we hold dear: Getting your freak on and riding bikes with friends both old and new.
It is in the spirit that we are announcing the Sunnyside Ride and reclaiming the celebration that all thought had been lost.
On Saturday, September 9th, the Denver Cruiser Ride is hosting a morning ride before the Sunnyside Music Festival! This ride will be a celebration of both the beauty and resiliency of Denver’s cycling community. Bring costumes. Bring friends and family members. Bring all the things that make you smile. More importantly, bring things that will make the people around you smile.
We will be meeting up at the Monkey Barrel, September 9th at 10 am. Registration will be from 10-11:30am. DJ Details. will be performing all morning long, courtesy of Black Shirt Brewing Co. Upon registering, riders will receive a wristband for the Sunnyside Music Festival, a free beverage ticket (may be traded out for a kid zone ticket), $75 in free food around town, an Official Denver Cruiser Ride license plate, and 5 entry tickets to a free bicycle giveaway.
The first 500 people registered will receive an additional drink ticket thanks to Black Shirt Brewing Co, Fireball Whisky, and Tuaca!!!! Registration is only $10, with proceeds benefiting local bike/ped groups and the Sunnyside Music Festival! Win-win. You get a big ol’ bunch of value, bike and ped groups get supported, and the Sunnyside Music Festival gets a bunch of crazy fun bike people!
